Tatiana is an experienced and dedicated practitioner of Traditional Chenese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture with a strong focus on holistic approach and commitment to providing comprehensive patient care. Based on years of scientific work, she combines the insight of TCM classics with the conventional medical science view. In her clinical practice, Tatiana includes all five major TCM treatment modalities – Acupuncture, Tui Na massage/acupressure, TCM herbal therapy, TCM diet therapy, and Qigong – along with the personalized approach to each patient. She provides treatment for a wide range of health conditions, diseases and syndromes. Tatiana graduated from Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, continued her TCM education at Pacific Rim College, Victoria, BC, and worked as a practitioner of TCM /Acupuncture at multidisciplinary clinics in BC. At the same time, Tatiana practiced Qigong, ran grouped Qigong classes and became a professional member of National Qigong Association. Recently, she moved back to Calgary and started her TCM practice here. Her intensive clinical training was supervised by TCM doctors of internal medicine, Dr. Shawn Zhou and Dr. Juan Huang, both of whom, for many years, worked at medical hospitals in China. In parallel, supplementary Qigong training deepened Tatiana’s understanding of TCM classic and ancient philosophy underlying TCM concepts. Before coming to the world of TCM, Tatiana worked in the field of scientific research. With her background education in physics, she dedicated her study to neuroscience and was intensively involved in brain research at Hotchkiss Brain Institute, University of Calgary (U of C). Here she received her PhD in Neuroscience and a Master of Science degree in Biophysics. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at the U of C and a neurosurgeon’s team member, she worked with patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, chronic depression, chronic pain, and epilepsy. For many years, she was teaching at the U of C, initially, physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy and, later, neuroanatomy for medical students at the Cumming School of Medicine. Tatiana has a strong belief in the power of holistic medicine approach and a competent combination of TCM and conventional medicine treatments. She emphasizes the fundamental value of disease prevention and the concept of self-healing. According to Hippocrates, “the natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well”. Ancient Chinese doctors believed that traditional treatments allow our natural self-healing forces to operate more efficiently and intelligently, intrinsically leading to the improvement of our health, life, and wellbeing
